  • Honoring Super Storm Sandy Service - NYS AFL-CIO & WDI

The Workforce Development Institute (WDI) and the NYS AFL-CIO are documenting the role of union members, workers and volunteers in addressing the devastation of Super Storm Sandy. WDI’s unseenamericaNYS program has a long history of offering photography and writing workshops across New York State. WDI has hosted exhibits in schools, universities; city, union and town halls; museums and commercial spaces. WDI is collecting photographs of the devastation caused by Sandy and the reconstruction efforts of workers and volunteers. These photographs and stories will become part of WDI’s permanent archive and be available to be shared. WDI is also collecting stories of how Sandy has affected New Yorkers and what we are all doing to help our neighbors. All are encouraged to submit their photographs and stories to WDI at photos@wdiny.org.
