Helping working families access quality child care and subsidy assistance.

The Workforce Development Institute's Child Care Facilitated Enrollment Program is a collaborative demonstration project between WDI, the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, and the local county Departments of Social Services.

The program was created through the initiative of organized labor and is funded through the New York State Senate Majority. The program recognizes the demonstrated need of working families for some assistance with the costs of child care. It provides child care subsidies to working families in the Capital Region and Oneida Counties with incomes up to 275% of the established Federal Poverty Level (FPL).

The program seeks to make the process of applying for child care subsidies and enrolling in child care programs easier and more convenient for working parents. The program also assists families in the selection of developmentally appropriate and safe childcare providers and provides other local and state child care and family resource information.
