David Goodness is the Regional Director for Central New York. David is focused on engaging strategic partners and developing strategies to tackle workforce development initiatives and issues. He is committed to helping employers bridge the skills gap across all industries within the region and in the state.
Prior to joining WDI in 2013, David was the Training Director and Organizer for UA Local 73 Plumbers & Steamfitters (Oswego, NY) where he operated and monitored two Apprenticeship Programs and various Journeymen Certification Programs. He also taught trade math and all OSHA training certifications.
David currently serves as a board member for Broome-Tioga, Onondaga, Oswego, and Madison-Herkimer-Oneida Workforce Development Boards. He also participates in the Cayuga-Cortland and Tompkins boards as well, and he is currently the Oswego Housing Authority Chairman. David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from SUNY Oswego and also a NYS Journeyman Certification as a Plumber/ Steamfitter. He is driven to help create and keep living-wage jobs in New York State.
