Mary Jane Bertram is the Regional Director for the Hudson Valley, and has over 24 years experience in community and workforce development. She believes the Hudson Valley has limitless potential, and is a hotbed for developing, strengthening and expanding opportunities for employees, employers, and the diverse communities that make the region so vibrant.
Prior to joining WDI in 2008, Mary Jane worked with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). During her time with SEIU, she served in a variety of different roles and gained valuable experience in areas such as community organizing, workforce support, strategic union development, contract negotiations, and participating in a variety of labor management activities and community engagement projects.
Mary Jane currently serves on the Dutchess County WIB Executive Board, the CTE Perkins Local Advisory Council, Selikoff Centers Advisory Board, Orange County Partnership Task Force, Columbia ReEntry Task Force, ESPRI, BOCES Health Occupations Advisory Board, and the REDC Workforce committee. She volunteers her time as the New York State patient representative for the National Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Society. She attended Valencia Community College, Brigham Young University, and received a teaching certificate from the Sogetsu School of Ikebana in Misawa, Japan.
