Deryl is a community development specialist who helps government, non-profits, and business strengthen their communities through economic and civic empowerment.

Deryl began his career managing important economic development and job creation projects for the State of Michigan. Later, as head of a community non-profit, he led an effort to redevelop existing housing stock and create new affordable housing in an impoverished area near Detroit, Michigan.

After moving to Westchester County in 2007, Deryl formed City Solutions, providing fund development, workforce development, and technical assistance to non-profits, community groups, and small businesses. Project areas included food insecurity, the arts, human services, youth education and training, and programming for individuals with serious barriers to employment. Deryl also served as Deputy Director of the Yonkers Workforce Investment Board.

Born in England, Deryl is from a military family and spent his first 16 years abroad, including time in Germany, Philippines, and Turkey. He is a graduate of Michigan State University, with a degree in Public Affairs Management.
