North Country

Counties covered: Jefferson, St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton, Lewis, Essex, and Hamilton 

As North Country Regional Director, Felicia Neahr covers the seven northernmost counties from Lake Ontario to Lake Champlain, and into the Adirondack Mountains.

Prior to joining WDI in 2022, Felicia led a large non-profit organization in St. Lawrence County, serving four years as their Executive Director. During that time, Felicia worked on reducing barriers to employment for individuals living in poverty. She also served on the county’s Workforce Development Board, gaining a broader understanding of workforce development needs across the North Country.

Felicia brings with her many years of non-profit leadership and community collaborations. Through grant writing, she has helped secure over two million dollars in programs and services for North Country communities. Currently, she is a North Country Partnership board member, a St. Lawrence Leadership Institute board member, and a Stand Up for Childcare Coalition member. Earlier in her career, she worked with children involved in the juvenile justice system, on developing a substance use recovery network throughout the region, and in community coalition building.

Felicia is a graduate of both SUNY Potsdam and St. Lawrence University, with degrees in English Literature and Writing, Speech Communication, and Counseling and Human Development. She is an avid hiker and appreciates the beauty and opportunities that the North Country Region has to offer.
