As North Country Regional Director since 2008, Greg Hart covers the seven northern-most counties from Lake Ontario to Lake Champlain, and into the Adirondack Mountains. Greg has a 30-year background in manufacturing as a journey-level machinist and CNC machinist. He also developed and taught an HVAC training program for dislocated workers with the Sheet Metal Workers union.
He participates on the Advanced Manufacturing Advisory Board at Clinton Community College, the Lending Committee and Board of Directors for the Adirondack Economic Development Corp., the Board of Directors of the Healthy Heart Network, the Workforce Committee of the North Country REDC, and is a member of the North American Transportation Taskforce through the North Country Chamber.
The natural resources of the forest and the forest economy is a special focus area for Greg. He and colleagues have worked to support the logging industry and the myriad of companies that produce value added products. Working with Paul Smith’s College, Greg recently facilitated the development of a new Summer School of Logging and internships with a number of companies for new loggers.
Greg has degrees in business administration and a Master’s degree in Labor and Public Policy. In addition, he has a Human Resources certification from LeMoyne College and has completed the economic developer coursework for the International Economic Development Council.
