Project Name: Nuts, Bolts, and Beyond

Project Focus: Provide 12 regional artists the tools they need to market themselves and ensure their self-sufficiency. Participants will be artists who have been creating with the intent to sell for at least two years. The 40-week program will provide them with classes, seminars, and independent study modules to learn techniques in marketing, bookkeeping, and copyrighting. At the conclusion of the program, participants will have the financial and marketing knowledge to take their business to the next level, crating the necessary self-sufficiency to sustain self-employment.

Project Focus: Support a three-day training program for 12 participants from 6 small-scale food producers around the rules and regulations associated with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). The project will result in participants gaining needed certifications and will assist the attending food entrepreneurs in achieving their business goals.

Project Focus: Assist with a new steam boiler that will enable the company to grow brewing capacity to meet current and anticipated future demand. The new boiler will power other new equipment that will allow the company to produce more product in less time. The project will result in the continued development of current staff and future workforce growth.

Project Name: Safety Training

Impact to Jobs: Skill Development

Project Focus: Provide managers with training around both prevention of workplace harassment as well as their role in inspiring a safe workplace. This training is a "train the trainer" program that will then be rolled out to all employees.

Project Name: VR Engineering Competency Program

Project Focus: Assist the company with support for a consultant who specializes in identifying problems with software under development. The consultant will also coach staff on how to develop remedies to software problems. The project is expected to result in improvements to product quality, skill development of staff, and job growth.

Project Name: Adult Customized Machine Tool Technology Training Program

Project Focus: Work with several manufacturers to offer a customized entry level machining program that will provide a pipeline of job-ready candidates. Trainees will be exposed to a full array of basic machine tool operations on traditional and CNC equipment, related math, blueprint reading, and other skills identified as needed by the employers. This six-month program will train 12 individuals; it is anticipated that all 12 will find employment with the participating employers. .
