Project Focus: Support caregiver training that increases understanding of clients who have Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. The training will expand the knowledge base of employees, which is expected to lead to improved job satisfaction, improved employee retention, and improved care for patients.

This partnership between WDI, MVCC, and the Dislocated Worker Assistance Center is an ongoing training program that provides students with computer and keyboarding skills that, in turn, enable them to successfully complete timed tests at local temporary employment agencies, leading to employment.

Project Focus:

Assist with the purchase of equipment to modernize the organization's thrift store, which is operated by in partnership with the Veterans Outreach Center (VOC). The VOC and the local Youthbuild program will collaborate to provide youth volunteer labor to help with the project. The thrift store serves as a mechanism for unemployed women to gain employment (retail) skills before being placed into permanent employment (see WERC below).

Project Name: Equipment - Computer Lab Chairs & External Drives

Project Focus: Provide equipment that will support WERC's ability to train and place women into employment. The new computer drives will safeguard critical training materials, resources, software programs, and the thousands of client resumes that are stored internally. The chairs will replace older furniture that is in disrepair. These new adds are expected to improve the overall training quality of the program, allowing women who are trying to transition back into the workforce after a period of time away to make this transition successfully.

Project Name: Coordinate Measuring Machine Upgrade and Training

Project Focus: Provide equipment and training that will help the company supply customers with more accurate data. Staff will also be trained on new geometric dimensions and tolerance mechansims so that they can operate the equipment. The project is expected to strengthen the company's capacity to produce, and drive growth including employment growth.

Project Name: Visi Software Training & Agie Wire EDM Machine

Project Focus: Assist the company with the purchase of a new machine and also the software training required to operate the new machine. The company has seen increased demand and this additional piece of equipment and related training will help it respond to requests for more intricate work. This project will help the company continue to grow, and offer continued opportunities for employees to gain new skills..
